Not all incense burners are created equal. Discover the right stone censer design for different types of incense.
Stick incense is the most common. For this, you need a burner with a wide, stable base and a small hole in the center for the stick. Low-profile, three-legged censers (矮款三足炉) are excellent for stick incense because they are stable and allow the ash to fall safely into the bowl.
Coil incense burns for a long time and produces a lot of ash. A censer with a deeper bowl and a domed lid is ideal. The lid prevents the ash from blowing around and helps control the smoke. Our Boshan burners, with their ventilation holes, are perfect for this.
Cone incense burns quickly and intensely. You need a burner with a flat, heat-resistant surface, or one filled with a bed of ash. A shallow, wide stone dish is often the best choice for cones.
